Audio Visual Systems

Access Control
It’s a crazy world out there. Make sure the only people who get in your building are the ones you want in your building! Cable Remediation
Cal Coast Telecom will upgrade existing cabling in your occupied facility without interfering with your daily operations. The transition can be completely seamless. We have provided this service for everyone from high-tech companies to schools and government offices.
Here’s how:
• We install new cabling systems in the evenings, while leaving the existing system in place.
• The new cabling is dropped to the user location, terminated, tested, and labeled over the weekend, so Cal Coast Telecom or your IT staff can cross-connect to the new cabling before Monday morning.
• We then remove all the old cabling, as required by The National Electrical Code.
Cable Plant Design (RCDD)
To help you design a complete, structured cabling system to meet all your Information Transport System (ITS) needs--including voice, data, video or other capabilities--Cal Coast Telecom maintains a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) on staff. The RCDD designation, administered by BICSI, is the only professional designation of ITS designers. It is your assurance of a professional quality installation that will meet all your communications needs.
CAD Documentation
Cal Coast Telecom employs full-time CAD draftsmen to provide you with complete documentation of your entire network, security or AV project.
CATV Systems
Cal Coast Telecom can design a complete CATV system including amplifiers, splitters, taps, return paths and modulators, including both hard-line and flexible coaxial cable. We also provide complete testing and tuning of the system as part of the project. This is commonly used to provide campus-wide video systems for businesses and academic institutions.
Computer lab Construction
Cal Coast Telecom has in-depth experience with data center and lab projects for IBM, Hitachi, Sun Microsystems, and Oracle. We design, install, and perform seismic restraints for network racks, cabinets, runway infrastructure, fiber-optic and copper inter-connect cabling.
Clean Room Cabling
Cal Coast Telecom has extensive experience installing voice and data cabling and support systems in operating clean rooms. Cal Coast Telecom will help design a communications solution for your clean room and can install it while the clean room remains operational. Cal Coast Telecom technicians are experienced at working in the highest class clean rooms and are familiar with all the appropriate particulate abatement techniques.

Confined Space Work
Our Cal Coast Telecom team is fully trained and equipped, with all the appropriate traffic control, ventilation, testing and rescue gear to work in confined space areas and maintenance holes.
Data Center Build-out
Cal Coast Telecom has in-depth experience with data centers for IBM, Hitachi, Sun Microsystems, Oracle, Dropbox, Constant Contact and Google. We design and install network racks, cabinets, runway infrastructure, and the attendant seismic restraints. Then we can design and install the inter-connect cabling, both copper and fiber optic.
Data Network Cabling-Fiber Optic
Cal Coast Telecom has some of the most experienced fiber optic technicians in the industry, with tens of thousands of installed strands of fiber at IBM, Stanford University, Oracle and others. We are familiar with fiber to the desk, backbone cabling, data centers, and outside plant campus connections.
Our installations include single-mode and multi-mode fiber, both 62.5/125um and 50/125um, including 10-Gig solutions and Single-mode.
Distributed Antenna System(DAS)
The mobile phone has become a vital piece of equipment, something so integrated into our lives that it is hard to imagine being without it. Unfortunately, there are many locations, especially inside large buildings, with little or no coverage. The answer is a Distributed Antenna System (DAS), a system of antennas within the building that will communicate with your mobile phone and then backhaul that transmission out of the building to the carrier.
Cal Coast has installed multiple DAS systems in high-tech campuses, hospitals, office buildings and even postal service buildings. With a DAS system, there is a double element – first the system must be designed and then the system must be approved by the carrier (AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, etc) whose signal is being amplified. One can buy and install products without the approval of the carrier, but then one might run afoul of the FCC. Cal Coast only installs properly engineered and approved DAS systems.
While DAS systems are expensive, the good news is that one DAS system can support multiple carriers. Talk to Cal Coast and see if DAS is the answer you need.
Moves, Adds and Changes
Cal Coast Telecom doesn't only want your big projects, we want to support you every step of the way!
Cal Coast Telecom maintains a large service fleet of on-call staff to assist you with additional locations, moving user voice and data services, and adjusting to changes in floor plans. We can also extend new data services, like T-1s and DS-3s, from the MPOE to your network equipment. We are the exclusive providers of riser services in many high-rise buildings in the Bay Area.
Outside Plant Cabling
Cal Coast Telecom installs aerial and underground outside plant cabling, including large pair count telecom cables and fiber optic cables, lightning protection, splicing, and waterproofing. We also perform confined space work in maintenance holes and pull-boxes.
Paging Systems
Whether for an office, a warehouse, a school, or a production area, Cal Coast Telecom can design and install a paging system in parallel with the rest of your communications needs.
Retail Location Support
Cal Coast Telecom has worked in every major mall in the SF Bay area. Our experience includes installation of credit card terminals, PC, Shopper Track and POS systems. We also extend and connect voice and data services, including POTS lines, ISDN, DSL, T-1 and frame relay.
Riser management
Cal Coast Telecom administers and maintains riser closets for multi-tenant commercial buildings. We extend and connect voice and data services to tenants including POTS, ISDN, DSL, T-1 and DS-3. We also assist new tenants with voice and data service ordering and in-suite cabling, and we inspect tenant cabling to ensure it meets fire and electrical codes.
Voice System Cabling
Cal Coast Telecom has extensive experience with Category 3, 5e or 6 cabling to support analog, digital or VOIP phone service, as well as high pair-count feeder cables for building risers or campus connections.
Wireless Networks
Cal Coast Telecom has successfully completed major campus wireless installations for major high-tech firms, and various IBM Global Services customers as a subcontractor.
We install Access Points, antennas and wireless bridges and all the wiring required to make a wireless network operate. This includes not only Ethernet cabling, but all the specialized coax cabling required for antennas. We also install antenna masts, roof sleds and lightning protection, and can help conceal wireless systems in public areas.
